Children's Cleanings in Las Vegas, NV
Why Are Children’s Cleanings Important?
One of the most important things we can do as a parent is to establish good oral hygiene habits at home and a good relationship between our kids and the dentist so that they have an easier time getting the care they need. At Modern Dental Care, we know that going to the dentist can seem scary, and that’s why our staff works to make each visit as kid-friendly and comfortable as possible so that they won’t fear getting the routine care they need. We offer children’s cleanings to help keep their teeth looking and feeling great and protect them from plaque, bacteria, and cavities.
Even though we try our best to get our kids to eat right, brush, and floss, there’s no way to manage everything all the time. Over time debris and plaque buildup on teeth and, if left alone, can cause issues like cavities and gum disease.
Even in baby teeth, cavities can be painful and must be treated with fillings. Gum disease in young children can also be a major problem requiring multiple dental visits.
Because of these problems, we recommend regular dental cleanings so your children can avoid these issues and stay healthy.
Plus, regular cleanings allow your dentist to be proactive about any issues that may develop and can help treat them before they become serious.
How Often Should Kids Get Cleanings?
Unlike adults, children should start getting cleanings around one year or when most of their baby teeth come in, ranging between 12 and 36 months. Once they start to have most of their teeth, it’s time to develop their oral health routine, including routine dentist visits.
We recommend that children get cleanings every six months or twice yearly for basic maintenance. If an issue is found, your dentist may recommend more frequent visits.
Our Services
Bonding
Bonding is a cosmetic dental treatment that helps fill chips, gaps, or fractures and is very different from veneers.
Bridges
Dental bridges are necessary for many patients with missing teeth or gaps in their smile, not just for general appearance. Gaps left by missing teeth eventually cause the remaining teeth to rotate or shift into the empty spaces, resulting in a poor bite.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Cosmetic dentistry refers to dental work that improves the overall appearance of your smile. It includes improvement of color, shape, position, etc. of your teeth.
Crowns
Dental crowns restore shape, strengthen function and improve the general appearance of teeth. Crowns encase the damaged tooth’s outer surface, securely cementing the tooth’s surface long-term.
Emergency Dentistry
Most dental emergencies, including obvious damage to a tooth, should always be treated as soon as possible. Click here or call our office to be directed to our emergency on call staff.
Dental Hygiene
Regular cleanings every six months, along with proper brushing and flossing, significantly reduce the chance of plaque and tartar build-up, therefore reducing the chance of more serious dental concerns in the future.
Extractions
Do you have a broken tooth that is causing ongoing discomfort and pain? You’ll likely require a dental extraction if the dentist deems your tooth to be beyond restoration.
